Nowy Sącz, Poland
In May 2021, the modernisation of Strzelecki Park in Nowy Sącz was finalised and the park itself was put to use. As part of the reconstruction, a new amphitheater building was put in place of the former concert shell.
Almost 3,000 Abacus seats were installed both on the audience tiers and on a slope surrounding the main audience. It’s worth noting we designed and produced a custom base of the support beam to keep the seat well-levelled.
The colour of the seats was matched to the entire venue - and as the main complementary colour is anthracite, popular in the finish of modern buildings, it was also chosen for the auditorium seating. We also delivered 295 Polyfold mobile chairs from the classic Nowy Styl range matching the colour of the fixed seating. The Polyfold chairs allow for the creation of temporary, additional rows in front of the stage, thanks to the click system and profiles connecting successive rows.
The amphitheater is adapted to the needs of persons with disabilities. In addition to special places for assistants of persons with a physical impairment, we have provided seat and row numbering which has Braille numbering for persons with low vision.
As for any other project, we have prepared technical documentation with seat arrangement overview, as well as a seat and row numbering plan, which was used by the investor to create a venue plan for the visitors.
The Abacus seat is a solution often chosen for amphitheaters. When it comes to this type of facility, it was first installed in the Kadzielnia Amphitheatre in Kielce, Poland. It was also used in similar projects in Falkenberg (Sweden), Lamia (Greece) and Béziers (France).
Let's talk about your project!
