Gems hidden in the mountains
Learn about our solutions
for Swiss indoor areas
Forum by Nowy Styl products are usually associated with outdoor facilities, that is why we went for something completely different this time.
As we had a pleasure to realise a long list of ice hockey rings projects ranging from the most renowned Swiss hockey clubs from the top, National League to venues dedicated for more relaxed activity, we decided to show you some of our Swiss reference gems.
List of projects
- Club: Fribourg-Gottéron, National League
- Capacity: 8,934 people
Another arena with history and an extreme makeover in the last couple of years. Completely modernised between 2018 and 2020, the BCF Arena increased the capacity from 6,500 to 8,934 people with over 6,400 seats. It shines with almost 6,000 Sigmas, Sigmas VIP, and Abacus. Additionally, there are over 500 Oscars VIP in the lounges - all provided and installed by Forum by Nowy Styl.
- Club: EV Zug, National League
- Capacity: 7,200 people
Filled with Forum by Nowy Styl product in the grandstands (Sigma), this modern ice hockey arena is the current home of EV Zug, after it moved from Eishalle Herti. It quickly turned out, the capacity may have been underestimated, so extra 200 seats were added in mid-2017.
There are plans though, to extend the capacity up to 9,000 seats in the near future.
-
Club: HC Davos, National League
-
Capacity: 6,800 people
It won’t be exaggerated to call Eisstadion Davos the most beautiful ice hockey arena in the world. Originally built in 1979, it has recently gone over a series of renovation works. It took almost 3 years to finalise them with some major changes of the arena layout. Some of the grandstands were demolished and rebuilt, the press and control areas were expanded, whereas the players’ dressing room was entirely modernised. Along with these changes, the “Ice Palace'' - as it is sometimes referred to, replaced almost one third of their existing seats with Forum’s Sigma.
- Club: HC Ambrì-Piotta, National League
- Capacity: 6,775 people
A brand-new multifunctional arena designed by an acclaimed Swiss architect - Mario Botta. The unique barrel-vaulted construction contains three floors and a basement to encompass everything a modern sports venue needs - restaurants, shops, offices, and reception areas. This way, it can be used continuously, not only during the “game days”.
As Gottardo Arena was a “from scratch” project, it also meant more freedom in seating arrangement. This way, it now showcases almost 6,000 Abacus seats, the flagship product by Forum by Nowy Styl. Apart from the main grandstands, our products also fill the press area (Abacus with writing top), and VIP lounges with Iota and Oscar VIP.
- Club: SC Bern, National League
- Capacity: 17,031 people
The history of PostFinance Arena starts over 50 years ago, when it was first opened to the public in 1967. It is one of the largest arenas dedicated exclusively for hockey in Europe. Although thoroughly refurbished for the 2009 World Championships in Ice Hockey, it is still famous for the steep standing tribunes located in the top part of the iconic building.
Forum furnished the lower stands with almost 7,000 black Sigma seats.
- Capacity: 4,735 people
Stimo Arena, formerly known as Swiss Arena, is a fantastic example of a community-centred facility. With the neighbouring Schluefweg Centre it is one of the most important recreational venues in the outskirts of Zurich. It can handle a wide range of activities from hockey, curling, and figure skating, to corporate training sessions, and other events.
Last year it underwent a major seat replacement, over 4,700 seats were replaced with Forum’s classic Sigma seat, a perfect choice for indoor (and outdoor) arenas.
- Clubs: Pfadi Winterthur and HC Rychenberg
- Capacity: 2000 people
The Axa Arena is a multifunctional hall located in Winterthur. Opened in 2018, it is home to the Pfadi Winterthur handball team and the HC Rychenberg. The stands are filled with Sigma seats.
